Electric Van Driver – London (Sales & Delivery)

To operate NIC UK’s electric van delivery service in London, providing exceptional customer service while efficiently managing deliveries, van stock, and on-site sales. The role combines driving, delivery, and sales skills to promote and grow our London van route operation as a mobile extension of our business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Delivery Operations

  • Complete 5 pre-planned London delivery routes daily, ensuring punctual and accurate deliveries to customers.
  • Load, unload, and handle products carefully to maintain product integrity.
  • Follow all traffic, parking, and delivery regulations, including awareness of red routes and congestion areas.
  • Maintain accurate delivery records, receipts, and route documentation.
  • Actively promote and upsell products to existing and potential customers on delivery routes.
  • Maintain strong product knowledge (toppings, sauces, and other key items sold from the van).
  • Handle payments securely via mobile POS or payment links, providing receipts and following company payment protocols.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships.

Vehicle & Equipment Care

  • Operate the company’s electric van (e.g., Fiat E-Ducato / Maxus E-Deliver 9) responsibly and efficiently.
  • Ensure the van is kept clean, tidy, and well-presented at all times, including internal racking and equipment.
  • Carry out daily vehicle checks (battery charge, fluids, tyre pressure, lights, etc.) and report issues immediately.
  • Coordinate with operations for van servicing, wrap maintenance, and technical equipment (e.g., iPad setup, POS device).
  • Manage van stock levels in line with pre-defined product lists and replenishment processes.
  • Use the designated warehouse cage system for storage and restocking.
  • Accurately record all stock movements and report discrepancies to the warehouse or transport manager.

Compliance & Safety

  • Adhere to all Health & Safety, Food Safety, and site-specific compliance requirements.
  • Follow company training in manual handling, defensive driving, and emergency procedures.
  • Maintain valid driving licence and any required certifications (e.g., electric vehicle familiarisation).

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Full UK driving licence with clean record.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Experience in sales or upselling (retail, food service, or similar environment).
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Experience with electric vehicles.
  • Familiarity with London routes, congestion zones, and parking regulations.
  • Basic IT literacy (iPad/POS usage, route navigation apps).
  • Food handling experience or certification.

TRAINING PROVIDED

  • Product knowledge and pricing structure.
  • Health & Safety and Food Safety.
  • Customer service and upselling techniques.
  • Navigation and route optimisation (NAV training).
  • Use of mobile POS and payment systems.
