The Trade Effluent Sampler will assist in the monitoring and control of trade effluent discharges in order to ensure compliance with traders' consents and to prevent any operational problems within the Networks and Wastewater Treatment Works. This role will involve the collection of all types of samples from industrial premises throughout Northern Ireland and the delivery of samples to either specified collection points and/or the analytical laboratory. These sample results may also be used in the calculation of trade effluent charges for a trade effluent customer. The role supports compliance investigations, cost recovery, and environmental protection through additional sampling, recording of observations and sample point anomalies.
Applicants MUST be able to demonstrate in their application and where necessary at interview:
- ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- A minimum of 5 GCSE’s Grade C or above, to include English and Maths, or equivalent.
- A minimum 6 months experience in dealing with customers face-to-face in a positive manner.
- Demonstrable experience in managing own workload, with the ability to plan and prioritise.
- A full current driving license enabling the post holder to drive in Northern Ireland as they will be required to drive a Northern Ireland Water vehicle.
- Medically fit to undertake manual handling duties associated with role e.g. lifting of sampling apparatus and manhole covers in excess of 12kg.
This role offers a competitive remuneration package with a salary scale of £24,494 - £29,938 per annum (pay award pending). The starting salary will normally be at the first point of the scale.
