The predicted salary is between 28000 - 38000 £ per year.

Through targeted planned and responsive reactive maintenance activities, the Craft Fitter will ensure that equipment availability is optimized and that NIW is able to comply with its regulatory and statutory obligations. The M&E Craft Maintenance Fitter will operate under the direct supervision of the Band 5 M&E Field Manager as part of a team to ensure that mechanical equipment throughout Customer & Operations Directorate (C&OD) is effectively maintained.

Candidates MUST be able to demonstrate in their application and where necessary at interview that they meet the following essential criteria:

  • Have a relevant Mechanical National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) level 3 AND have completed a mechanical apprenticeship WITH a minimum of three years relevant post-apprenticeship trade experience working as a mechanical fitter.
  • Hold a full, current driving licence or have access to a form of transport to enable you to fulfil your responsibilities.
  • Potential employees must have a permanent residence within 25 miles travelling distance by public road to one of the following postcodes: Kennedy Way Hub - Blackstaff Road, Belfast, BT11 9DT or Greenisland Wastewater Treatment Works - Shore Road, Greenisland, Antrim, BT38 8TY as measured by RAC Route Planner from full postcode to full postcode via the ‘shortest route’ selection on the website.

This is to enable NI Water to meet its key customer service requirements and deliver effective services to customers, particularly in respect of the need to respond promptly to out of hours emergencies.
