Electrical Inspection & Testing Remedial (EITR) Quality Manager in Belfast

The Electrical Inspection & Testing Remedial (EITR) Quality Manager is responsible for the successful management and administration of work relating to compliance with statutory Electricity at Work Regulations, and Health and Safety at Work Order N.I. within the CSD Directorate in NI Water. NI Water sites must be electrically inspected and tested as per the IET Wiring Regulations, BS 7671 and any associated amendments. Additionally, all faults identified as part of the inspection and testing must be made good to achieve conformity with the relevant parts of The Electricity at Work Regulations and other statutory legislation.

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate planning, programming and validation of the Electrical Inspection and Testing and Remedial Work of NIW sites by the competent contractor to achieve compliance with Electricity at Work Regulations.
• Using planning and influencing skills ensure that the programme of inspections is carried out in agreement with other operational functions. Liaison is necessary to ensure that operational capability is not compromised.
• Using planning and influencing skills to ensure that any remedial works identified as part of the Electrical Inspection and Testing are prioritised and programmed to be completed by appropriate annual tender contractors within budget and achieve compliance with BS7671.
• Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the relevant regulations i.e. IET Wiring Regulations BS7671 Requirements for Electrical Installations.
• Identify solutions for issues and defects within a live process control environment and work in collaboration with stakeholders to implement changes to process and procedures based on technical advice and knowledge.
• Build strong working relationships to ensure positive outcomes in the completion of inspection and testing work programmes and implementation of complex remedial works across multiple stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

• Have a relevant Electrical National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) level 3 AND have a minimum of three years relevant post qualification trade experience OR Have completed a recognised electrician apprenticeship AND have a minimum of three years relevant post apprenticeship trade experience working as an industrial electrician.
• Qualification in City and Guilds 2391 or 2395 and 18th Edition City and Guilds 2382.
• Knowledge and experience of current IEE regulations i.e. BS7671 and testing of installations in accordance with these regulations.
• At least one year's experience in supervising/monitoring staff or contractors.
• Competent in MS Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

• In the event of a large number of applications, candidates may be short-listed on the following desirable criteria: Have a minimum of five years relevant post qualification trade experience OR Have a minimum of five years relevant post apprenticeship experience working as an industrial electrician.
