Working closely with the Chief Executive and Finance Officer to lead the Finance Directorate. The role will include:
- Collaborating with the Chairperson, Chief Executive, and Finance Officer to develop financial strategies, policies, and budgets for board approval.
- Liaising with the Chief Executive and Finance Officer on budgets, management accounts, year‑end accounts, and other relevant financial matters.
- Reviewing the Northern Cricket Union’s planned budget and quarterly management accounts, and advising the board on financial matters.
- Ensuring that decisions taken are financially sustainable.
- Ensuring the Northern Cricket Union complies with its statutory and regulatory financial obligations.
- Acting as an authorised signatory of the Northern Cricket Union.

Background and Skills:
- A formal accountancy qualification is desirable; however, consideration will be given to candidates with extensive experience in the financial sector (public or private) or with other relevant financial qualifications.
- Experience in financial management within similar organisations, such as boards or sports clubs, is also desirable.
Time Commitment: The board meets at least eight times per year (in person). The Finance Director will also be expected to lead the Finance Directorate and attend additional meetings between board sessions as required.
