About the Role: Seeking a motivated and detail-oriented QA Coordinator to join the Quality Assurance team within a fast-paced fresh food manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, or a related discipline looking to develop a career in food manufacturing and quality management. The successful candidate will support the delivery of food safety, quality, legality, and customer requirements across the site while ensuring products consistently meet company and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine quality inspections and product assessments throughout production.
- Complete quality checks on raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished products.
- Monitor compliance with food safety systems including HACCP, GMP, and site procedures.
- Carry out factory hygiene audits and environmental inspections.
- Record, investigate, and follow up on non-conformances and corrective actions.
- Support internal audits and customer audits.
- Assist with traceability exercises and product testing programmes.
- Maintain accurate quality records and documentation.
- Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to specifications.
- Support supplier and customer complaint investigations.
- Assist with training production staff on quality and food safety requirements.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
- Liaise with production, engineering, and technical teams to resolve quality issues.
Essential Requirements:
- Degree or higher qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, Microbiology, or a related discipline.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Desirable Requirements:
- Placement or internship experience within the food industry.
- Understanding of HACCP principles and food safety standards.
- Knowledge of BRCGS Food Safety Standard.
- Experience of quality systems, audits, or laboratory testing.
- Understanding of fresh food manufacturing processes.
