We are working with a successful food manufacturing business in Dungannon to recruit an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead the engineering and maintenance function across a busy production operation. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced maintenance professional who enjoys a hands-on leadership role and wants to make a real impact on plant reliability, preventative maintenance, engineering standards and continuous improvement.

The Role:

  • Take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the maintenance team, ensuring that all production equipment, machinery and site services are maintained to a high standard.
  • Work closely with Production and senior management to minimise downtime, improve equipment reliability and ensure the site operates safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage and develop the maintenance and engineering team.
  • Plan and coordinate preventative and reactive maintenance activities.
  • Ensure machinery and production equipment are maintained to maximise availability and minimise downtime.
  • Monitor maintenance performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain effective preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Manage breakdowns and ensure effective root-cause analysis is carried out.
  • Work closely with Production to prioritise maintenance requirements and minimise disruption.
  • Manage contractors and external engineering service providers where required.
  • Ensure engineering work is completed in line with company health & safety, food safety and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure the CMMS/maintenance system is kept up to date.
  • Manage maintenance budgets, spares and stock levels.
  • Identify opportunities to improve plant efficiency, reliability and operating costs.
  • Support capital projects, equipment installations and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, company procedures and industry standards.
  • Provide regular reports on maintenance performance, downtime and improvement activities.

About You:

We are looking for an experienced maintenance or engineering professional with previous experience in a food manufacturing, FMCG or similarly fast-paced production environment. You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience in a Maintenance Manager, Engineering Manager, Maintenance Supervisor or similar leadership role.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical maintenance knowledge.
  • Experience managing and developing an engineering/maintenance team.
  • Experience working within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • A strong understanding of preventative and predictive maintenance.
  • Proven experience of fault finding and root-cause analysis.
  • Experience managing contractors, budgets and engineering projects.
  • Good knowledge of health & safety and engineering compliance.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to work effectively with Production and other departments.
  • A practical, hands-on approach combined with strong leadership skills.
  • An engineering qualification or relevant technical qualification would be advantageous, although relevant industry experience will also be considered.
