We are currently recruiting for a skilled Maintenance Engineer with a strong mechanical background to join a busy and fast-paced food manufacturing environment in Ballymena. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer looking for a stable Monday to Friday role within a well-established company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production machinery and equipment
  • Respond quickly to mechanical breakdowns to minimise downtime
  • Diagnose faults and complete repairs on production and packaging equipment
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the site
  • Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely and in line with food hygiene standards
  • Work closely with production teams to maximise efficiency and output
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
  • Assist with installations and project work when required

Requirements

  • Time-served engineer or equivalent, with a mechanical bias
  • Previous maintenance experience within manufacturing
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, pneumatics, and production equipment
  • Basic electrical knowledge would be advantageous
  • Good understanding of health & safety procedures
