We are currently recruiting for a skilled Maintenance Engineer with a strong mechanical background to join a busy and fast-paced food manufacturing environment in Ballymena. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer looking for a stable Monday to Friday role within a well-established company.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production machinery and equipment
- Respond quickly to mechanical breakdowns to minimise downtime
- Diagnose faults and complete repairs on production and packaging equipment
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the site
- Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely and in line with food hygiene standards
- Work closely with production teams to maximise efficiency and output
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
- Assist with installations and project work when required
Requirements
- Time-served engineer or equivalent, with a mechanical bias
- Previous maintenance experience within manufacturing
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, pneumatics, and production equipment
- Basic electrical knowledge would be advantageous
- Good understanding of health & safety procedures
