Hours: 39 hours per week

Monday to Thursday: 8:00am - 4:30pm

Friday: 8:00am - 3:30pm

Some flexibility outside of these hours may be required to support business operations.

About the Role: We are looking for a well-organised and enthusiastic Planning & Logistics Coordinator to join our Operations team. This position is central to ensuring the efficient movement of products, packaging assets and transport throughout the supply chain. Working closely with Production, Despatch, Finance, Sales and external logistics providers, you will coordinate transport activities, monitor stock held at third-party cold stores, manage returnable packaging and provide essential administrative support to the wider business. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-moving manufacturing environment where planning, communication and attention to detail are key.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating daily transport requirements to ensure products are delivered on schedule.
  • Acting as the main point of contact for external haulage companies and resolving any transport-related issues.
  • Monitoring transport performance and identifying opportunities to improve service levels.
  • Managing the movement and availability of Dolavs between company sites and customers.
  • Liaising with third-party cold storage facilities to maintain accurate stock records.
  • Organising the collection and replacement of damaged returnable packaging.
  • Producing and processing purchase orders for transport providers and other logistics services.
  • Supporting the Finance team with accurate purchasing information and documentation.
  • Assisting the Sales Administration function with order processing and amendments when required.
  • Providing administrative support for production and butchery planning during periods of absence or increased workload.
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring company procedures are followed.
  • Promoting a safe working environment by reporting hazards, incidents and near misses.

Candidate Profile: We're looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • Previous experience in logistics, transport planning, supply chain or a similar coordination role.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to build relationships with both internal teams and external suppliers.
  • A proactive, flexible approach with the ability to solve problems quickly.
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good IT skills, including experience using Microsoft Office and business systems.

Desirable Experience: The following would be advantageous but are not essential:

  • Experience within a food manufacturing or FMCG environment.
  • Knowledge of stock control and warehouse operations.
  • Level 2 Food Safety qualification.
  • IOSH Managing Safely, or an equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
  • An understanding of continuous improvement and safe working practices.
