The Bedford Hotel Belfast is seeking an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to join its team. The Bedford Hotel is a prestigious boutique hotel in the heart of Belfast, set within the iconic Scottish Mutual Building. With 82 luxury bedrooms, a destination restaurant, cafe bar and private dining rooms, we are setting new standards for hospitality in Northern Ireland.

The Bedford Hotel seeks a skilled and driven Sous Chef who thrives in a luxury hospitality setting. You are a natural leader with a passion for service excellence and an unwavering commitment to creating unforgettable guest experiences. Your proactive approach, eye for detail, and ability to inspire those around you make you the perfect fit for our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily kitchen operations and ensure smooth service
  • Assist the Executive Head Chef in planning and executing menus for the restaurant, café, private dining
  • Supervise and support kitchen team members
  • Provide on the job training, mentoring and support to develop team skills and maintain high culinary standards
  • Uphold food hygiene, health and safety and allergen control procedures in line with Food Safety Standards
  • Assist with ordering, stock rotation and inventory management to ensure freshness and reduce wastage
  • Monitor food costs and support the Executive Head Chef in achieving GP targets
  • Participate in daily briefings and management meetings as required
