We are seeking an experienced and strategic Technical Director to lead and oversee all technical helicopter operations across our multi-base organization. Reporting directly to the CEO and serving on the Extended Executive Committee, you will hold full accountability for Maintenance (Part-145), CAMO, Supply Chain, Logistics, Fleet Management, and Part-147 training. You will ensure safe, compliant, efficient, and customer-focused technical operations while driving performance, cost control, and fleet availability. This is a high-impact executive role combining operational leadership with strong business acumen and full P&L responsibility. You will lead technical transformation initiatives including fleet optimization, digitalization, predictive maintenance, and sustainability programs, positioning the organization for future growth. This function can be performed from any of the NHV bases. Regular travel to other bases is required.
Responsibilities and areas
- Operational & Strategic Leadership: Lead and optimize all technical functions (Part-145 Maintenance, CAMO, Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, Fleet Management, Part-147) with a strong business-driven and performance-focused approach. Develop and execute technical strategies, structures, and processes aligned with corporate objectives, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and operational excellence. Drive organizational optimization and continuous improvement initiatives across maintenance and supply chain operations. Ensure technical capabilities fully support operational delivery, customer commitments, and strategic growth objectives. Establish, monitor, and report on KPIs covering safety, compliance, service quality, cost efficiency, and fleet availability. Ensure compliance with ISMS policies and execute additional executive-level technical assignments as required.
- Financial & Performance Management: Hold full P&L responsibility for technical operations, including maintenance budgets, supply chain expenditures, and lifecycle cost management. Drive sustainable cost optimization and total cost of ownership improvements across the fleet. Partner with Finance to ensure disciplined budgeting, forecasting, financial oversight, and structured performance reporting. Balance profitability objectives with uncompromising safety and regulatory compliance standards. Provide strategic leadership to multi-location technical teams, building strong leadership capability, succession planning, and skills development. Establish clear performance goals, accountability frameworks, and KPI-driven management structures. Foster a culture aligned with company values, embedding safety, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Promote strong cross-functional alignment and transparent executive communication.
- Safety, Compliance & Governance: Ensure full compliance with AOC, (B)CAA, EASA/CAA/ICAO regulations, and internal standards across all technical domains. Oversee governance of Accountable Managers and Postholders (Part-145, CAMO, Supply Chain, Fleet Management, Part-147). Maintain robust operational controls, reporting systems, documentation, approvals, and regulatory records. Champion airworthiness, safety, quality assurance, and consistent adherence to procedures and best practices. Lead technical transformation initiatives including fleet optimization, digitalization, predictive maintenance, sustainability programs, and SAF adoption. Introduce innovative technologies and structured change management to enhance reliability, safety, availability, and cost efficiency. Drive continuous performance improvement across all technical and logistical functions.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with OEMs, suppliers, MROs, regulators, aviation authorities, and customers. Represent the technical organization at executive and regulatory levels. Ensure external partnerships and contractual commitments align with internal technical strategy and support business growth.
Extensive senior leadership experience in aviation technical management or a comparable highly regulated industry. Proven experience as (Nominated) Postholder under an AOC and/or as Accountable Manager. In-depth knowledge of aviation maintenance regulations and regulatory frameworks. Strong financial acumen, including P&L ownership and cost control. Demonstrated success in leading transformation, restructuring, and performance optimization initiatives. Experience in an international, multi-base operational environment. Solid understanding of business planning, operational management, and customer contract management. Results-driven, structured, and proactive mindset. Strong analytical capabilities with a KPI-focused approach to performance management. Professional level of English (spoken and written).
