NHS Fife has an exciting opportunity for a Telephonist to join our Switchboard team at Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle calls using a computerised Switchboard, respond to queries.
- Respond to pager requests, emergency calls, monitor alarms, and provide advice and support on telephony services to NHS employees and the public.
- Operate within a 24/7 integrated service, including training in other areas supporting the Electronic Health Record.
- Perform duties on all shifts across a 24-hour period, 7 days a week.
Required Qualifications
- Educated to Standard Grade (or equivalent) with passes in English and Arithmetic.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Good keyboard/typing skills and ability to work independently.
- Strong organisational and listening skills; flexible approach to work.
- English language competency sufficient to perform the role safely and effectively.
- Full training will be provided; knowledge of NHS Fife is an advantage.
Working Hours
- Shift work required, with the ability to work all shifts across a 24 hour period, 7 days a week.
