An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic salaried GP to join our team. The successful candidate would need to work 5 sessions per week and to be flexible to help cover during holiday/busy periods. This is on a 2 year fixed term basis with the possibility of it being extended for longer. We are a dedicated, hardworking team, that supports each other and understands the importance of a good work life balance. We are a long established training practice, taking pride in the development of all our staff. As a respected training practice, this role would ideally suit someone who has an interest in training and developing the doctors of tomorrow. Main duties of the job This post requires the post holder to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities of a GP working in primary care. Effectively and safely manage patients, in a medically appropriate way. Postgraduate and Undergraduate teaching On call sessions with some home visits Attending regular MDT and team meetings Work towards continual improvement and development within the Practice About us We are a CQC Good GP practice, with a list size of approx. 7300 patients in the Manor area of Sheffield. We are a friendly approachable team, committed to the ongoing development of all our staff. Our team comprises of 4 Partners, 3 Salaried GPs, a Paramedic, an ANP and a well established nursing and administrative team. The practice is well led with staff welfare in mind. We believe in progression, education and focus on training GPs and Medical Students and are very proud to be a training practice in Sheffield. We are proactive in developing relationships with our local community and wider Primary Care network. We host weekly MDT\’s with medical care and social colleagues to plan and deliver the care to our patients whilst tackling health inequalities. This is also reflected in our involvement with the Deep End Group of practices. The successful applicant should share our enthusiasm for education and delivering a high level of patient care. They will become a key member of our team, undertaking both clinical and educational duties. Job responsibilities The following are the core responsibilities we expect of a Salaried GP. There may be times you are required to complete additional tasks, based on the demands and needs of the practice. The delivery of highly effective care to the patient population. Partial triage system – Telephone & Face to Face appointments to include any emergencies. The provision of services as outlined within GMS and PCN contracts. Prescribing of medication, adhering to local and national guidance. Effective management of LTC. Administration as required for management of referrals, pathology and prescriptions etc. Maintaining relevant, up to date clinical records including accurate coding on SystmOne assisted by Ardens templates. Ability to work autonomously but also collaboratively with the rest of the practice team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement. The requirement to take your share of On Call shifts. Support the education of medical students and junior doctors at varying stages of training. Attend and be a proactive participant of Practice/MDT/PCN meetings. Person Specification Qualifications Fully qualified GP with GMC registration. CCT registered. Inclusion on the NHSE performers list. Vocational training certification or equivalent. UK work permit (if required) Evidence of CPD activities. Experience of further postgraduate educational activities in relevant fields. Experience Experience of working in general practice in the UK. Commitment to and experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Motivated team player who can work effectively towards a common goal. Experience of working in a GP practice. Experience of working with system one. Research interest and/or experience.
