Job Summary

Provide high-quality care to patients. The post holder must be medically qualified, maintain GMC specialist registration, and hold a license to practice. Develop and maintain competencies required for the role. Ensure prompt attendance at scheduled clinical activities. Involve patients in care decisions and respond to their views. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, valuing all members, and provide care within an agreed team structure.

Research, Teaching, and Training

Collaborate with academic and clinical colleagues to enhance the Trust's translational research, complying with Research Governance. Provide high-quality teaching to undergraduates, postgraduates, and other healthcare professionals as required. Undertake training and serve as an educational and clinical supervisor and appraiser, ensuring external accreditation. Support the Resident Doctor Lead in their duties.

Main Duties

Your job plan is expected to include approximately 10 Programmed Activities per week, mainly at Guy's & St Thomas' sites, with on-call commitments. The plan can be adjusted by mutual agreement. Detailed job planning and personal/professional objectives will be discussed within 3 months of start date.

About Us

The Department of Critical Care seeks a Consultant Intensivist to join a dedicated, innovative team providing state-of-the-art critical care. The role is initially for twelve months, with opportunities to develop specialist skills and contribute to education, simulation, ECMO, peri-operative care, outreach, and follow-up services.
