Are you a dedicated and passionate GP seeking a fulfilling career? Look no further! Our ever-growing practice in the West of Southampton with its rich maritime heritage is inviting applications for a GP Partner or Salaried Doctor to join our dedicated team.

Main duties of the job:

  • GP Partner or Salaried Position
  • We welcome applications from both experienced GPs and newly qualified doctors.

  • We offer 6 weeks annual leave and 1 week study leave pro rata.

We have a list size of around 15,500 patients and are a team of 8 partners and 6 salaried GPs working across 2 sites in Southampton: Cheviot Road Surgery and Shirley Avenue Surgery. Each doctor is based on one site overseeing their own list of patients. We have an excellent team of practice nurses, Healthcare Assistants, and an admin workflow team of GPAs and Care Coordinators.

Job responsibilities:

  • You will form an integral part of the surgery and be responsible for your list of patients, including the administration of documents, results, referrals.
  • You will have a sound understanding of local pathways and referral processes supported by our dedicated typing and referral team.
  • You will be part of our duty system, which means you are available for home visit triage and visits, supported by our PCN Acute Home Visiting Service.
  • You will work collaboratively within our multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-focused healthcare.

Person Specification:

  • Qualifications (Essential): Fully Registered and Qualified with the General Medical Council
  • Desirable: Strong EMIS knowledge, Knowledge of Docman 10

Additional requirements:

  • Disclosure and Barring Service Check: This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and requires a DBS check for any previous criminal convictions.
  • UK Registration: Applicants must have current UK professional registration.
