We currently have opportunities in our Domestic Services Department at the Wrexham Maelor Hospital and annex buildings for enthusiastic, motivated individuals. The Domestic Services team is responsible for maintaining environmental cleanliness standards, and we are seeking additional Domestic Assistants to perform these duties within our hospital. Previous experience in the cleaning industry is beneficial but not essential, as successful candidates will receive on-the-job training and supervision. Uniform and protective clothing will be provided.

We offer permanent contracts and have the following positions available in our Enhanced Clean Team:

  • 5 x Part-time posts (15 hours per week), between 11 am and 3 pm (TBC), working 3 hours daily over 5 days, including weekends.

Main duties of the job

  • Maintain cleanliness of floors, furniture, fittings, and remove marks from walls, partitions, and doors following set methods, standards, and frequencies.
  • Perform non-cleaning tasks such as washing patients' crockery, jugs, glasses, and making beds with clean linen in staff accommodation, adhering to standards and schedules.
  • Operate cleaning equipment, including electrical appliances, to achieve specified cleanliness standards.
  • Handle refuse for disposal.
  • Replenish supplies such as paper towels, toilet tissue, soap, and moisturiser as needed.
  • Monitor stock levels of cleaning materials and request replenishments as necessary.
  • Organise daily workload within scheduling guidelines to ensure all tasks meet standards.
  • Complete documentation to record cleaning activities.
  • Understand and apply specified cleaning methods and schedules.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, patients, visitors, and staff to maintain cleanliness standards.
  • Ensure compliance with health board and departmental policies and practices.

Knowledge of Welsh is desirable; applications in Welsh or English are equally welcome.
