Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear (CNTW) NHS Foundation Trust This is a new post for an Old Age consultant psychiatrist to provide medical input into the community Treatment Team located in Cumbria. The post holder will work along with a multidisciplinary team covering the old people\’s population in North-Cumbria. The post holder will provide senior clinical expertise in the assessment and treatment of individuals with complex mental health problems and at-risk mental states. Main duties of the job This is a full-time substantive Consultant post providing senior clinical and leadership input within the Old Age Community Treatment Team. The post holder is expected to: Participate in the engagement, assessment, diagnosis, and formulation of patients referred to the CTT. Be committed to delivering excellence in clinical care. Work effectively with the multidisciplinary community team and in-patient teams. Promote the safety and well-being of the patients we serve. Respect the rights and dignity of patients. Email: oladipupo.omolabi@cntw.nhs.uk Tel: 0191 2875060 Person Specification Qualifications/Eligibility MBBS (or equivalent) Registration with GMC (or eligible to become registered) with a licence to practice. Included on GMC Specialist Register (Old Age Psychiatry) or eligible for inclusion within six months of CCT/CESR. Approved under Section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act 1983 OR able to achieve within three months of appointment. Approved Clinician Status OR able to achieve within three months of appointment. Possess a CCT/CESR in Psychiatry Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field. Training in educational supervision and appraisal. Knowledge Up-to-date knowledge in the relevant field of Psychiatry. Awareness of current issues and controversies in service provision, mental health policy, and legislation. Special interest relevant to the post as demonstrated by publications or presentations. Experience Experience of multidisciplinary team working. Wide clinical experience in old age psychiatry in different clinical settings. Experience of Clinical Audit. Experience in multi-agency work with service users, carers, and voluntary agencies. Experience in service management or development. Skills High level of clinical skills. Proven competence in diagnosis and management of psychiatric disorders in the older age population. Ability to work efficiently. Excellent teaching skills. Established ability as a clinical teacher. Established record of clinical leadership. Training in relevant treatment skills, e.g., brief psychological therapy. Personal Characteristics Able to sustain self and support others. Trustworthiness. Maturity, openness, and flexibility. Ability to communicate clearly in spoken and written form. Able to meet the mobility requirement of the post. Punctuality and good time management. Honesty and integrity. Well organized. Holds a valid UK driving licence OR provides evidence of proposed alternative.
