The post holder will actively support the Research Accounts Manager with all transactional aspects of commercial research accounts management and help to resolve commercial research account finance queries.

Main duties of the job

  • The transactional administration of the Trust’s research commercial research accounts, including:

  • Raising invoices including provision of any required back-up documentation

  • Raising Credit Notes

  • Distribution of commercial research income

  • Raising Purchase Orders

  • Month End journals

  • Preparing transaction reports as requested

  • To support the Research Accounts Manager with all aspects of transactional financial management relating to commercial research budgets throughout the lifetime of the project.

  • To distribute all viable commercial research income in line with agreed commercial research project ANN and CTA.

  • oAssociation of Accounting Technicians (AAT) or another recognised accountancy and finance qualification

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a financial administration environment

  • Excellent general administrative skills.

  • Providing a service to users and customers in a public sector organization

  • Operating finance systems

  • Maintenance of specific research accounts in a project accounting environment.

  • Liaison with commercial research sponsor organisations (UK and oversees).
