Ward 8A is a 19-bedded Infectious Diseases/High Consequence Infectious Diseases unit.

Band 3 HCAs will be responsible for monitoring vital signs, blood glucose levels, venepuncture, and cannulation, providing personal hygiene care, pressure area care, and supporting Registered Nurses in managing patient care.

Excellent communication, organization, and initiative are essential for this role. Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Band 2 HCA or equivalent.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Monitoring blood glucose levels
  2. Recording observations and escalating abnormal news
  3. Performing ECGs
  4. Venepuncture and cannulation
