I am seeking highly experienced and proactive CMDB Consultant with deep expertise in Ivanti and Configuration Management Database (CMDB) implementations. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between technical delivery and business needs, ensuring that CMDB solutions are effectively designed, implemented, and aligned with best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the implementation of CMDB solutions, with a strong focus on Ivanti.
  • Act as a key liaison between service providers and customers, ensuring clear communication and alignment of requirements.
  • Provide expert guidance on CMDB best practices, solution design, and strategic direction.
  • Drive the adoption of ITIL v4 principles, particularly in configuration and asset management.
  • Design intuitive service catalogues and request fulfilment processes that enhance user experience and operational efficiency.
  • Implement governance and compliance controls within workflows, including robust version and change control mechanisms validated through baseline comparisons.
  • Work with the relevant leads to input to process maturity assessments and develop actionable improvement roadmaps for ITIL practices.
  • Engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure understanding, buy-in, and successful delivery.
  • Operate with a delivery-focused mindset, proactively identifying and resolving blockers, and ensuring timely decision-making.
  • Play a critical role in environments with low CMDB maturity, helping to shape direction and deliver value quickly.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Extensive hands-on experience with CMDB implementations.
  • Proven experience working with Ivanti as a service provider.
  • Strong understanding of CMDB architecture, data models, and integration strategies.
  • Deep knowledge of ITIL v4, especially configuration and asset management.
  • Experience designing service catalogues and request fulfilment processes.
  • Familiarity with governance implementation, including compliance controls and version/change management.
  • Experience evaluating process maturity and developing ITIL improvement roadmaps.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environments.
  • Experience in guiding organizations with limited CMDB maturity toward effective solutions.

Certifications:

  • ITIL 4 Foundation certification is required.
  • At least one additional ITIL v4 Practitioner or Specialist qualification is highly desirable.
