Service Manager/Lead Clinical Physiologist (Neurophysiology) Band 8A

The opportunity has arisen to appoint a qualified Clinical Physiologist to join the Clinical Neurophysiology team at Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, in the role of Service Manager/Lead Clinical Physiologist.

Tayside Clinical Neurophysiology is a busy department providing a comprehensive range of neurophysiological investigations and monitoring procedures, including routine, sleep-deprived, and portable EEG, ambulatory monitoring, adult and paediatric video telemetry, MSLT, nerve conduction studies, and a range of evoked potential studies.

The service caters to a wide range of patients, including neonates, ICU, paediatrics, and individuals with mental health issues. Excellent communication skills are essential to manage this diversity and the complexity of information.

This post will entail responsibilities for training Clinical Physiologists, participating in teaching medical and nursing students, and managing various operational roles. The successful candidate will oversee recording equipment, liaise with third-party vendors, and collaborate with local eHealth and IT departments. Contributions to policy and procedure reviews and the future development of Tayside Clinical Neurophysiology services are also expected.

Clinical Physiologists are encouraged to participate in CPD, audits, and research. Membership with ANS and RCCP registration is expected.

The Successful Candidates Should Possess

  • ANS (or EPTA) Part One and Two or equivalent
  • BSc in Clinical Physiology (Neurophysiology) or equivalent, preferably with evidence of master\’s level study, which can be modular
  • High-level experience in one or more specialized areas of Clinical Neurophysiology
