Overview
Highly Specialist Clinical Physiologist, Band 7, Cardiac Physiology, Ninewells Hospital. This post is an exciting opportunity for an accredited Echocardiographer to join the Tayside team at Ninewells Hospital and Perth Royal Infirmary. The successful applicant will work within the Cardiac Physiology department, which provides a comprehensive range of invasive and non-invasive cardiology investigations.
Responsibilities
- Perform and report adult transthoracic echocardiography and, where appropriate, transoesophageal echocardiography, using advanced ultrasound technology (e.g., strain analysis, 4D imaging, exercise / pharmacological stress echo).
- Work predominantly in echocardiography with opportunities to work in other areas of the department as required.
- Participate in continuing professional development and education; attend local, national and international professional meetings/seminars to maintain and update knowledge and skills.
- Engage in training and development of others, including Specialist Registrars, and work autonomously within scope of practice.
- Contribute to the Cardiac Physiology service including invasive and non-invasive procedures such as Coronary Angiography, primary PCI, ICD/CRT and Pacemaker follow-up, Electrophysiology, and ambulatory monitoring where applicable.
Qualifications
- BSc in Clinical Physiology or equivalent.
- AHCS registration or equivalent.
- BSE accreditation or equivalent.
- Post-qualification experience with the ability to work autonomously and train and develop others.
Hours and Conditions
- Hours of work: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexible working patterns if required.
