An opportunity has arisen for an individual looking for a challenging and rewarding role working within the field of Quality Improvement, attached to the Planned Care Programme. The post sits within the NHS Tayside Improvement Team which provides applied quality improvement support, consultancy, training and education around systems thinking and the application of quality improvement methodology.

Responsibilities
  • Support the delivery of improvements in systems of care in Tayside.
  • Deliver training and education in quality improvement.
  • Work with many local teams and individuals to improve care across Tayside.
  • Link with others doing similar roles across Scotland.
  • Mobilise quality improvement and service design expertise to empower and enable teams.
  • Work with clinicians, staff, patients, carers and colleagues to deliver high quality improved services.
  • Influence and be involved directly in the delivery of an educational curriculum for quality improvement.
  • Develop organisational capability in quality improvement across a variety of levels.
Qualifications
  • Hold a first degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Either a formal professional qualification or equivalent experience in the field of quality improvement.
  • Ideally, experience applying quality improvement techniques within a healthcare setting.
Skills and Attributes
  • Committed and flexible; comfortable with working semi‑autonomously.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and complexity; able to work to tight deadlines.
  • Established improvement skills and excellent interpersonal skills to coach individuals and teams.
  • Skilled problem solver, comfortable collecting and analysing data, and able to produce clear high‑quality written reports.
Working Hours

Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week.
