We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our multidisciplinary Renal Team as a Charge Nurse specialising in Renal Anaemia. This pivotal role involves providing expert care and management for patients with renal anaemia across various settings, including outpatient clinics and dialysis units.
Applicants should be able to provide evidence of recent CPD activity and study at degree level or equivalent. Non-medical prescribing will be a key component of this role, however training can be provided.
Responsibilities
Clinical expertise, knowledge and practical experience in the nursing care of the renal patient is essential for this post. Key responsibilities include:
- Clinical Expertise: Deliver specialist nursing care for patients with renal anaemia, including assessment, treatment initiation, and ongoing management.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with nephrologists, dietitians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualised care plans.
- Patient Education: Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding anaemia management, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications.
- Clinical Leadership: Offer mentorship and supervision to junior nursing staff and contribute to the development of clinical protocols and guidelines.
- Audit and Research: Participate in clinical audits and research activities to enhance service delivery and patient outcomes.
You must be registered on Sub-part 1: RN1 or RNA or Sub-part 2: RN2 of the UK NMC Register
