NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

This is a permanent part time post for 22.2 hours per week, the shift pattern for this Monday to Wednesday 0800 to 1600.

The post holder will work as part of the multidisciplinary team to support effective clinical care by providing efficient administrative, clerical and receptionist services within the maternity departments. The post holder is expected to communicate extensively verbally with the patient, their relative/carers, the multi-disciplinary ward team and other departments involved in the provision of care.

Knowledge required to undertake the role will be established through relevant in-house training relating to processes and procedures, TrakCare patient information system and stock ordering system with expectation of performing at a fully competent level within a specific time period (tbc).

Previous clerical/reception experience is desirable along with previous experience of working with the general public in a customer service environment.

Good organisational and communication skills.

Keyboard skills and proficient use of computer systems are essential.
