Domestic Services Department are recruiting for Domestic Assistants to undertake cleaning responsibilities across Angus locality in order to deliver the highest standard of cleanliness within the healthcare setting. This includes areas such as wards, side rooms, theatres, offices, health centres, GP practices etc.
You Must Have The Ability To:
- Work as part of a team or on your own initiative. This may include lone working.
- Possess good verbal / written communication skills as well as listen and communicate information effectively.
- Respond constructively to unpredictable situations and be able to cope under pressure.
- Complete Domestic related paperwork.
- Have awareness of basic H&S and Infection Control issues associated with the role.
- Carry out tasks in a methodical manner.
- Follow instructions.
- Carry out mandatory training, both online and face to face.
- Undertake a range of duties in a safe and competent manner, which includes walking and standing for most of the shift, bending, stretching, pushing, pulling and lifting, using appropriate aids.
- Cope working in busy clinical and non-clinical environments. This may include working in areas with increased heat, secure units, and areas with distressed patients.
- Work in environments that may be classed as infected.
- Have a professional approach.
- Understand the importance of maintaining and observing confidentiality.
- Learn and adapt.
All Domestic Assistants are required to work throughout NHS Tayside at various sites/areas should there be a requirement to do so.
You will be required to complete the Health Care Support Workers Workbook to ensure you are competent in your role and you must comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.
