Consultant in Old Age Psychiatry (Full Time)

Join to apply for the Consultant in Old Age Psychiatry (Full Time) role at NHS Scotland. The position is within Angus Health & Social Care Partnership, located at the Susan Carnegie Centre, Stracathro Hospital near Brechin.

We are looking for a consultant to provide medical leadership, advice and supervision to three well‑established Community Mental Health Teams for Older People in Angus over 65. The post is within our two Psychiatry of Old Age inpatient wards: a 13‑bed organic ward and a 12‑bed functional ward.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide medical leadership and supervision across inpatient wards.
  • Deliver care and promote a multidisciplinary and multi‑agency approach.
  • Supervise and support community mental health teams.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Applicant must be on the specialist register for psychiatry or within 6 months of the anticipated award of a CCT/CESR (CP) or already possess CESR in psychiatry at the time of interview.
  • Full‑time, 10 sessions.
