An exciting opportunity has arisen for a CDU Manager based at Ayrshire Central Hospital.
What You Will Do
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Central Decontamination Unit for the CDU Manager to lead and support the team. This is a highly complex role requiring an individual with both an extensive knowledge base and a keen interest in the ever-changing field of decontamination services.
The Central Decontamination Unit, based at Ayrshire Central Hospital, is a busy Department reprocessing reusable medical devices across a range of specialities throughout Ayrshire & Arran. The Department reprocesses in excess of 120,000 surgical instrument sets and supplementary items per annum.

Knowledge, Training And/or Experience Required To Do The Job
- Extensive working knowledge of decontamination practices, gained over 5 or more years.
 - Experience with quality management systems and best practice in relation to decontamination.
 - Familiar with technical requirements, decontamination legislation, guidance and standards.
 - Hold recognised IDSc training together with certificated User training for Sterilisers and Washer/ Disinfectors.
 - Knowledge of current standards and regulatory requirements for decontamination, including the Medical Device Regulations, is essential.

UK Driving Licence/Car Ownership
A UK car licence/car ownership is essential to this role.
