We have an exciting opportunity for a bank Child Protection Nurse Advisor (CPNA) to work within the NHS Forth Valley child protection team. The CPNA will provide advice and support to health staff, adhering to local and national policy guidance. Working in partnership to establish, develop and maintain effective working relationships across the multi-agency Child Protection forums in the Forth Valley area is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advice and support to health staff on child protection matters, adhering to local and national policy guidance.
  • Establish, develop and maintain effective working relationships across multi-agency Child Protection forums in the Forth Valley area.

Qualifications

  • A first level registration nurse and SCPHN qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Relevant post registration experience.
  • Post graduate diploma in Child Protection (PgCert Child Protection) preferably at master level or evidence of equivalent relevant experience.
  • First level degree or equivalent and evidence of ability to study at post-graduate level.

Additional Knowledge And Skills

  • Ability to critically appraise research and analyse complex information.
  • Working knowledge of audit and self-evaluation.
  • High level of computer skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance.
  • Excellent presentation, training facilitation and meeting management skills.
  • Knowledge of or qualification in supervision skills in child protection.

Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.
