Job Title: Trades Maintenance Assistant
Trust Coventry & Warwickshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust
Location: Brooklands, Marston Green B37 7HL
Pay Rate: Band 3 β Β£12.45 per hour
Shift Pattern: Monday β Friday 08:30 β 16:30 (37.5 hours per week)
6 months initially but may turn permanent for the right candidate subject to performance.
About The Role

South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a Band 3 Estates Maintenance Worker to support our healthcare sites across the region. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a responsive and professional estates team, working to ensure that our environments are safe, functional, and comfortable for patients, staff, and visitors alike.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering a wide range of skilled maintenance, repairs, installations, and testing on buildings and services.
- Managing both routine and non-routine tasks with flexibility and efficiency.
- Responding to urgent issues such as fire alarms, heating failures, and drainage problems.
- Contributing to planned preventative maintenance across Trust sites.
- Communicating clearly with patients, staff, contractors, and colleagues to minimise service disruption.
- Participating in the on-call rota and undertaking emergency overtime as needed.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- A recognised apprenticeship or formal qualification (e.g., NVQ, BTEC, ONC, or City & Guilds) in a building trade.
- Experience in a maintenance environment.
- Sound knowledge of safe working practices and relevant building regulations.
- Full UK driving licence and ability to travel to various sites.
- Confidence in using IT systems, including PDAs and mobile phones, for job management.
