Role summary:
We are seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager to join NHS Professionals\’ procurement team, reporting to the Head of Procurement.
Skills/Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage strategic sourcing and contract management for a portfolio of direct and indirect categories with an annual spend exceeding £m, collaborating with SRM, Purchasing, and Commercial teams.
- Develop and implement category strategies aligned with NHS Professionals\’ business needs.
- Plan and execute strategic sourcing projects in a timely manner.
- Engage with stakeholders to facilitate sourcing activities and contract implementation.
- Draft contracts and negotiate terms.
- Manage approvals for new products and suppliers.
- Identify and lead cross-functional opportunities internally and externally.
- Communicate category strategies and objectives to stakeholders and suppliers.
- Collaborate closely with SRM and Purchasing teams for seamless engagement.
- Ensure compliance with policies, including Health & Safety, Data Protection, and legislative requirements.
- Foster a high-performance team culture with fair measures and prompt feedback.
- Identify training needs and support team development.
- Manage team members\’ performance, including absences and appraisals.
- Provide daily leadership and management of the department.

- Possibly hold a CIPS or relevant qualification (desirable).
