We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Pharmacist at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (PAHT). The Trust provides a comprehensive range of general acute, outpatient, and diagnostic services across its hospital sites. In this role, you will participate in the professional pharmaceutical provision of pharmacy services to the Trust and its external partners, ensuring safe, effective, and evidence-based patient care. You will provide clinical pharmacy cover, including near-to-patient services, and support the work of designated directorate pharmacists and senior staff, deputising for them when required. The role also involves contributing to specified projects and group initiatives to support service development, as well as participating in the pharmacy emergency duty rota as part of the department's commitment to high-quality, continuous patient care.

As a Senior Pharmacist you will work as part of the wider pharmacy team to deliver an effective and professional pharmacy service across a range of key areas, including the pharmacy dispensary, clinical pharmacy services, clinical pharmacy training, pharmacy technical services, and medicines information. The role requires adherence to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) relating to clinical activities, ensuring the highest standards of prescription monitoring, drug chart documentation, and antibiotic stewardship. Additionally, you will work closely with near-to-patient teams, undertaking tasks such as drug history taking, supporting patients' own drug use, self-medication programmes, one-stop dispensing, transcribing To Take Away (TTA) medications, and providing discharge counselling to ensure continuity of care and safe, effective use of medicines.

Here at NHS Professionals, we run England's largest NHS staff bank and are experts at putting people in places to care. Every year we help thousands of dedicated and highly skilled NHS workers enjoy better career opportunities, more flexible shifts, and a healthier work-life balance across our partnered Trusts.
