Job Description: Job Title: Deep Cleaner Trust: Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust Location: Torbay Hospital, Lowes Bridge, Torquay TQ2 7AA Pay rate: £12.21 per hour + Enhanced rates on Nights & Weekends £17.64 Saturdays and £22.90 Sundays. Rota and Hours: Mondays – Sundays, with the below shifts available on rota basis 6am – 2pm, 12 midday – 8pm and 7pm – 7am shifts available Are you looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference? We are seeking dedicated Hospital Cleaners to join our team at Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust. This is a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for our patients, staff, and visitors. About the Trust We provide health and social care services to our people in their own homes or in their local community. We also run Torbay Hospital (providing acute hospital services) as well as five community hospitals, stretching from Dawlish to Brixham. We support around 500,000 face-to-face contacts with patients in their homes and communities each year and see over 78,000 people in our A&E department annually. We serve a resident population of approximately 286,000 people, plus about 100,000 visitors at any one time during the summer holiday season. Key Responsibilities * Using HPV equipment and UVC to ensure high-level disinfection. * Deep cleaning of floors, walls, ceilings, and furniture. * Maintaining hard floor surfaces – buffing, spray cleaning, stripping, resealing, and polishing. * Cleaning after infectious patients (MRSA, Norovirus, COVID-19, etc.) to prevent the spread of infection. * Cleaning theatres, hydrotherapy pools, and kitchen areas to the highest hygiene standards. * Handling spillages, bodily fluids, and waste disposal following strict safety guidelines. * Replenishing essential supplies such as toilet rolls, soap, and hand towels. * Observing Health & Safety regulations and completing mandatory training. About You * Must have previous cleaning experience. * A strong work ethic and attention to detail. * Ability to follow infection control and safety procedures. * Willingness to undertake training and use specialist cleaning equipment. * A team player who takes pride in maintaining a clean environment.
