Job Title: Catering Assistant - Retail Trust: Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust Location: Torbay Hospital, Lowes Bridge, Torquay TQ2 7AA Pay rate: Band 2 - £12.21 per hour Monday– Friday, £17.22 per hour on Saturdays and £22.34 on Sundays Rota and Hours: Sunday – Monday various shifts available 7.30-15.30, 8.00-16.00, 9.00-17.00, 10.30-18.30, 10.45-18.45, 11.15-19.15 Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust are seeking dedicated and experienced Catering Assistants to work on our Retail Restaurants at Torbay Hospital. You will play a vital role in ensuring that patients receive nutritious and appetising meals, tailored to their dietary requirements. This is an opportunity to make a real difference in the well-being of patients while working in a friendly and supportive environment. This physically demanding role requires you to be on your feet for long periods and working efficiently in a busy environment. Key Responsibilities * Serve food, drinks, and snacks to staff, visitors, and patients in our cafés and retail areas and * Keep counters, service areas, and dining spaces clean, tidy, and hygienic * Operate tills and handle payments accurately (cash and card) * Restock shelves and fridges to maintain availability of products * Collecting used trays and maintaining cleanliness in the restaurant areas * Following food hygiene, health and safety, and infection control procedures * Provide a polite, helpful, and friendly service to every customer About you * Physically fit – able to work on your feet for long periods * Previous experience in a catering, hospitality, retail or healthcare setting is desirable but not essential * A passion for providing excellent customer service * Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team * An understanding of food hygiene and health & safety regulations (training provided) * A positive, approachable, and enthusiastic personality * Willingness to undertake relevant training (including till operation and food hygiene etc) Who are NHS Professionals?
