What you will do:
NHS Ayrshire and Arran CAMHS are excited to announce a rare opportunity to provide maternity leave cover for 12 months on a fixed term or seconded basis. At our Urgent Assessment & Intensive Treatment Team, we aim to deliver excellent care and support by offering an efficient and effective service supporting young people where and when they need it.
NHS Ayrshire and Arran CAMHS provide a specialist mental health service for children and young people age 5 – 18 years presenting with a range of mental health conditions and development disorders. If you have a genuine interest in working within CAMHS then this is an excellent opportunity to join a forward thinking dynamic multidisciplinary team.

We are inviting applicants with a first level professional qualification in RMN or RNLD and valid NMC Registration to apply for Band 6 Unscheduled CAMHS Practitioner role to be part of an innovative service and we are offering the opportunity to shape the delivery of crisis and intensive community treatment for the young people and their families within Ayrshire and Arran.
You should have evidence of significant post registration professional practice and experience to undertake and fulfil the key areas for this post. We are looking for nurses who are enthusiastic, motivated and committed to working with young people who may have multiple and complex needs. You must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and have experience in risk assessment and risk management.
You will be supported by the CAMHS Urgent Assessment & Intensive Treatment (CUAIT) Team Leader through line management and supervision as well as receiving additional support and supervision from the Senior Nurse for CAMHS.
CUAIT provides comprehensive and systemic mental health assessment for young people up to the age of 18, who present in crisis. Some short term follow up for children and young people is also part of the role, as is liaison with other CAMHS clinicians, hospital staff across a range of clinical areas, and wider services for children and young people.
You will work alongside the Multidisciplinary Community CAMHS and CAMHS Neuro teams to provide a seamless service whilst maintaining close links with Paediatric Inpatient Service, Skye House (adolescent inpatient), Woodland View (AMH hospital) and Foxgrove (National Secure Adolescent Inpatient Service) to facilitate admission and discharge from inpatient services.
Hours: 2x positions 37 hours per week fixed term for 12 months.
UK Driving Licence/Car Ownership: Car licence/Car ownership is essential to this role.
