Specialist Physiotherapist – Respiratory and Surgical Pathway
Band 6 – Full Time Permanent Post

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an HCPC registered Physiotherapist to join our band 6 development programme in Dundee.
This post is part of a team of Specialist Physiotherapists working within the respiratory and surgical pathway, which spans both inpatient and community settings. Together the team provides a varied and rewarding service across multiple specialties including:
- Acute Surgical (Colorectal, Upper GI, Hepatobiliary, ENT, Maxilo-facial and Vascular)
- Critical Care (ICU, Surgical and Medical HDU)
- Medical Respiratory
- Pulmonary Rehabilitation
- Cystic Fibrosis and Complex Infection
- Outpatient Respiratory Services
Depending on service need and individual development goals, the post may offer the opportunity to rotate across these specialties.
As a Band 6 Physiotherapist, you will be responsible for delivering high quality interventions across the range of clinical areas. You will develop and implement therapeutic programmes and discharge plans that support recovery and continuity of care. Working within a 7-day service model, you will contribute to patient flow and enhanced outcomes. In addition, you will supervise and support junior staff, physiotherapy support workers, and students, fostering a collaborative and educational environment. Your role will also involve active participation in Clinical Governance, service development initiatives, and the integration of evidence-based practice. Following appropriate training, you will undertake respiratory on-call duties.
Applicants should have previous experience in at least some of the areas covered, as well as a strong interest in developing skills across the respiratory and surgical pathway. This is an excellent opportunity to build and consolidate specialist clinical skills within a supportive team, whilst making a real impact on patient care.
