Band 8A Advanced Clinical Specialist Speech and Language Therapist – Head and Neck Cancer/Voice

Due to succession planning for a flexible retirement within the team, we are seeking an experienced Speech and Language Therapist for one day per week to join our established and supportive Head and Neck Cancer/Voice team within the Acute Adult Speech and Language Therapy Team based at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

You will need to demonstrate significant depth and breadth of clinical knowledge, specialist skills and experience of working with people with head and neck cancer and voice disorders. You will also need to have experience of supporting the development of less experienced Speech and Language Therapists within this clinical area.

Your role will encompass in-patient and out-patient work, working into an established multi-disciplinary team. Shared values to promote optimal patient rehabilitation and recovery, an active contribution to collaborative working and to service development initiatives is important to the team.

Aberdeen Royal Infirmary is a large teaching hospital. You will be part of the Speech and Language Therapy service which covers a wide range of acute hospital patient care, including neurosciences, and acute stroke. Within our small, supportive team there are established pathways for peer support, mentoring and supervision, and a commitment to providing learning and development opportunities.
