Vacancy details

Permanent 0.7 WTE vacancy available in Tier 4 CAMHS OT Team based in the Melville Unit, Royal Hospital for Children and Young People (RHCYP), 50 Little France Crescent, Edinburgh, EH16 4TJ and the Royal Edinburgh Hospital, Tipperlinn Road, Edinburgh EH10 5HF. Please note: As this post is part-time the salary will be pro-rata.

Role and duties

The post holder will be based in a dynamic occupational therapy team providing input to the CAMHS Inpatient unit, Over 12s Day Programme and Assertive Outreach Service. The post-holder will contribute to multi-disciplinary assessment and treatment planning for young people with complex neuro-developmental and mental health disorders and difficulties. They will deliver a range of individual and group interventions utilising Occupational Therapy and generic mental health assessment and treatment skills.

It is expected that the successful applicants will have experience working in CAMHS or acute mental health settings, or can demonstrate the ability to transfer existing skills and experience to this field. Training and supervision will be provided to enable successful applicants to develop their skills in this specialist area.

CAMHS services are ever-changing to meet increasing referrals and changing needs and the post holder can expect to be part of developments and continuous improvement. This is an exciting time to be part of the service!

Qualifications and experience

Applications are invited from experienced Occupational Therapists wishing to work with children and young people in a busy service, who have excellent assessment, care planning and communication skills.

Requirements

This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
