0.57 WTE 23.5 hours / Permanent

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic physiotherapy assistant practitioner to join our Acute Medical Physiotherapy team. This team provides assessment and treatment to patients in wards 26 and 27 at WGH, aiming to maximize patients\’ independence following acute illness.

As a physiotherapy assistant practitioner, you will be assigned a delegated patient caseload by a qualified physiotherapist. You will work independently to assess patient needs, modify treatment plans, and deliver care within your scope of practice, including progressing, reassessing, and discharging patients. Active participation in multidisciplinary team activities on your ward is essential.

You will also support the physiotherapy team with various non-clinical duties, such as equipment management, patient referrals, and data collection for audits. You may assist band 3 physiotherapy support workers as needed.

This role offers exposure to a wide range of conditions, requiring excellent clinical reasoning and team collaboration, providing valuable experience as a band 4 physiotherapy assistant practitioner.

Physiotherapy Services promotes staff development through appraisals, supervision, and CPD opportunities.

Candidates should have clinical experience in various settings, including with acutely unwell patients, and current experience as a band 3 therapy support worker or band 4 assistant practitioner.
