Overview
Crewe Medical Centre is a large and busy GP surgery located in North West Edinburgh. The practice is easily accessible by car with parking available. We are looking to welcome a new Practice Manager to lead our friendly team, which consists of five GP partners supported by three salaried GPs, an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Practice Nurses, Healthcare Assistant, Pharmacist, Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner, Link Worker, Mental Health Nurse and Administrative staff. We serve a diverse group of around 11,000 patients, including a higher than average number of people affected by deprivation. Crewe is an innovative, forward-thinking practice with strong links to local health-related community organisations and a commitment to teaching; we offer GP specialist training as well as placements for FY2 doctors and medical students.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the practice team and day-to-day operations.
- Oversee personnel management and ensure effective staff development and performance management.
- Oversee financial management and forecasting for the practice.
- Collaborate with administrative staff and clinical leads to meet the needs of registered patients.
- Engage with teaching and training activities, including GP specialist training and placements for FY2 doctors and medical students.
- Work with the team to maintain high standards of patient care and service delivery.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in a management position in a healthcare setting is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong skills in personnel management and financial management/forecasting are required.
- Experience supporting day-to-day management within a practice is desirable.
Working Arrangements and Salary
Hours and working pattern are negotiable with the exception of a Monday which will be required. Salary is dependent on experience and is in the range of £45,000 – £55,000 FTE.
