Overview

Allied Health Professions Practice Education Lead (AfC Band 7)

Base: St. John’s Hospital, Livingston (with flexible working across Lothian to meet service demands). Permanent post: up to 0.6WTE (22.2hrs per week based on 37 hour working week).

An exciting opportunity to take a lead role in supporting the educational needs of the AHP workforce across NHS Lothian. The successful candidate will work alongside other experienced staff, as part of our small AHP Practice Education team. We are looking for a friendly and enthusiastic individual with a flexible and proactive approach to practice education to join us.

The purpose of this role is to support and facilitate the development of the workplace as a sustainable quality learning environment for all Allied Health Professional staff (Registered AHPs, pre-registration students, support workers and staff returning to practice) working across all care settings within the Health Board area. In addition, the post holder will contribute to the development and implementation of national practice education programmes of work.

We Want To Hear From You If

  • You are a qualified AHP and registered with the HCPC;
  • You are passionate about the role of practice education supporting career development and CPD for allied health professionals and support staff;
  • You can demonstrate excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills;
  • You have a Masters qualification or can demonstrate the equivalent, e.g. a critical understanding of theories and principles in education, application of critical analysis, evaluation and synthesis, autonomy and initiative;
  • You can work flexibly across Lothian to meet service demands.
