Senior Pharmacy Technician: Quality, Safety and Aseptic Services

Reporting and reviewing medication incidents (LERNs) and sharing learning outcomes to reduce the risk of recurrence. Undertaking audits in clinical areas. Assisting with pharmacy staff Quality & Safety and Aseptic Training. Contributing to team meetings to improve medicines safety and governance. Suggesting changes to pharmacy practice and contribute to wider policies. To have specialised knowledge of Pharmacy operations within Cancer Services. Supervise and ensure that all areas of the aseptic unit are of an appropriate standard of cleanliness. To be a qualified designated aseptic checking Technician. To provide the final technical check for prepared cytotoxics/CIVAs products. This includes checking of ingredients, worksheet, label, drug volumes and product integrity. This is an unsupervised role taking responsibility for accuracy of final product provided.
