Job Title: -Community Staff Nurse (School Age | Immunisation Team) Trust : -The Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust location:Doncaster Pay Rates: – £15.33-£24.52Per hour. About the trust: The Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust, Children\’s Care Group, School Age Immunisation Team (SAIS) require enthusiastic self- motivated first level nurses to support the team on an as and when basis to deliver the annual Seasonal Flu programme to children in schools from September December each year. What you can add: To work closely with team members to ensure good communication and relations within the team. To work closely with staff at all levels in schools to ensure good communication and relationships within schools. To speak with members of the public face to face / telephone enquiries or complaints. Ensure issues and challenges to delivery are escalated to the appropriate leads to ensure timely action is taken to maximise the efficiency of the service. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with all levels of employees internal and external to the trust. Recognise and work within own competence and professional code of conduct as regulated by the NMC Ensure safe storage, rotation and disposal of vaccines Ensure cold chain procedures are adhered to and maintained throughout session and transport To work flexibly to meet the needs of the service What you\’ll need: The post holder will be able to communicate with children of different ages to facilitate the safe administration of the Flu vaccine and will be expected to be able to travel to different schools across Doncaster. This role is based in Doncaster (however may be required to work within the RDaSH footprint and travel beyond the RDaSH footprint) To support the School Age immunisation team in the safe delivery of seasonal Flu in schools. Undertake the necessary training to be able to deliver vaccines safely To keep up to date with current practise and research based developments To understand about cold chain, storage and the legal aspects of administering a vaccine Work collaboratively with schools and school leads to facilitate delivery of vaccination programmes in school. To identify risk and be able to make evidence based clinical judgments Work to a Patient Group Direction (PGD) To identify issues and report them to Clinical Leads/Programme Lead NMC Register UK drivers licence Evidence of professional development Working independently or as part of a team Access to transport and the ability to travel within the required geographical area Problem solving skills and ability to respond to sudden unexpected demands Flexible approach to work in line with the needs of the programme Well-developed interpersonal and oral/written communication skills. Able to maintain effective working relationships at all levels Attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work with confidential information Knowledge and skills in using Microsoft Office packages including word, excel and teams.
