Fixed term contract up until 31 March 2026. Secondments will be considered. We are looking to recruit a full time HCPC registered Band 5 to our exciting rotational post across Community and Acute services. This post is perfect for a new graduate OT or someone looking to broaden their experience within a varied rotational post.

This exciting opportunity to work within an established team of Occupational Therapists in both a community-based setting as well as the Acute Hospital will allow you to develop core skills and a wide knowledge of the Occupational Therapy process within different settings. Our rotation covers:

  • Orthopaedics
  • Acute medical
  • Surgical
  • Neuro/stroke rehabilitation
  • Wheelchair services
  • Ward based Rehabilitation
  • Community Based rehabilitation
  • The National Treatment Centre

In the acute hospital rotations, your focus will be on facilitating safe and timely discharges from the hospital setting as well as liaising with the wider multidisciplinary team. Within the Community team, you will be developing skills in rehabilitation, major and minor adaptations, inter-professional working, and developing dynamic skills for problem solving, as well as supporting the discharge of patients from the acute and rapid admission prevention assessments.

In some parts of the rotation, there will be a requirement to work as part of a seven-day rota. You will be expected to act independently to provide a full comprehensive service of assessment, diagnosis, treatment/appropriate management, onward referral, and discharge to a range of patients referred to the service. You will work within Multidisciplinary Teams, supervise Occupational Therapy Assistant Practitioners, and Occupational Therapy students. Regular supervision is provided (including peer supervision opportunities) and opportunities for ongoing professional development are encouraged.

A Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy is required as is current HCPC registration. You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations and patient residences, so a full current driving license is essential.
