We are currently looking for a Depute Facilities Manager, based at Belford Hospital, Fort William. The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for the management of the Facilities team within Lochaber, which includes Belford Hospital, Fort William Health Centres, and both internal and external staff accommodation. The role supports the team through a period of change as plans for the future of a new hospital in Fort William progress. The Café within Belford Hospital is a new venture and will be part of the service managed and developed by the Facilities Management team for colleagues, patients, and external visitors.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all Policies and Procedures are managed to meet legislation and that risk management techniques and best practice are applied within the area of responsibility.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with local managers and relevant colleagues to ensure a flexible, client-focused approach within Facilities adapting to changes in Healthcare provision.
- Recruit, train, develop and motivate staff to deliver and maintain patient-centred services, optimising personal contribution. Good communication and IT skills are required.
- Travel to NHS sites in the local geographical area; a fleet vehicle is available. A full clean driving licence is required; access to economical public transport is acceptable.
- Lead Soft facilities staff within Lochaber Highland sites to support the delivery of patient care within specified requirements, quality standards and budgets.
- Provide management support to the Facilities Manager for functions across the North West Highland area.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Experience in facilities management or a similar leadership role within a health or public sector environment preferred.
- Ability to recruit, train, and motivate staff; strong communication and IT skills.
- Willingness to travel between NHS sites within the local area; full clean driving licence required.
