Depute Facilities Manager – NHS Highland • Belford Hospital, Fort William

Overview

Lead the Facilities Team across Lochaber, including Belford Hospital and Fort William Health Centres, supporting the development and operation of a new hospital in Fort William and the café service at Belford Hospital.

Responsibilities

Overall responsibility for the Facilities team within Lochaber
Support the team through transition to the planned new hospital in Fort William
Ensure all policies and procedures meet legislation, risk management and best practice
Develop effective working relationships with local managers and other relevant colleagues to maintain a flexible, client‑focused approach to facilities
Recruit, train, develop and motivate staff to deliver patient‑centred services
Lead soft facilities staff across Lochaber and Highland sites to support the delivery of patient care within quality standards and budgets
Provide management support to the Facilities Manager for the North West Highland area
Travel to all NHS sites in the local geographical area, using a fleet vehicle; a clean driving licence is required

Qualifications

Excellent communication and IT skills
Strong organisational and leadership abilities
Experience in facilities or building management preferred
Full clean driving licence; access to economical public transport acceptable
Willingness to travel within the Lochaber Area
