We have a 7-day working schedule in NHS Grampian and are seeking an enthusiastic, flexible, and motivated Radiographer to join our friendly MRI team, working across both hospital sites. This role involves working various shift patterns, including 12-hour shifts and weekends. Previous MRI experience is desirable, although full training will be provided. CPD is actively encouraged and supported.
The MRI service currently has:
- 1 Siemens Avanto 1.5T scanner
- 1 Siemens Avanto Biomatrix upgrade 1.5T scanner
- 1 GE 450 wide bore scanner
Further MRI scanners are planned in the future. The NHS also has access to a 3T Philips Achieva research scanner. The NHSG Radiology Department provides imaging services to approximately 620,000 people in Grampian, Orkney, and Shetland.
NHS Grampian is in an exciting phase of modernisation, with recent investments including:
- £120 million for the Baird Family Hospital, integrating maternity, gynaecology, and breast services
- The ANCHOR Centre for outpatient and day-patient treatment for cancer and blood disorders
Radiology is scheduled to benefit from significant investment through the National Treatment Centre program and is a key part of the NHS Grampian Major Trauma Centre. Regional planning is underway through national and regional programmes.
We are looking to appoint a candidate who will be a member of the MRI team in NHS Grampian. The candidate should have good working knowledge of MRI, with a proven interest in the field being desirable. Successful candidates will be educated to degree level in Diagnostic Radiography and hold current registration with HCPC.
