Are you an enthusiastic talented Psychiatrist looking to rejuvenate or begin your career? We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, committed and talented Psychiatrist to join our Aberdeenshire Community Mental Health (General Adult Psychiatry) Team to provide excellence in the care of patients across the central area of Aberdeenshire.

We are fully committed to education, career development and excelling in the care we provide to our patients and service users. We strongly believe that your career growth is our growth. The successful candidate will be based within the Bennachie Community Mental Health Team, covering an urban/rural area of central Aberdeenshire. There will be close working with colleagues on the Royal Cornhill Hospital site in Aberdeen.

We are also happy to discuss flexible working arrangements, and accommodate special interests, research and career development through our range of specialist services based on the Royal Cornhill Hospital site. Candidates will have access to a generous relocation package, personal office and IT equipment and a dedicated medical secretary to support their role. Travel expenses are available as per trust policy.

There will be involvement in the training and development of junior colleagues, and candidates are actively encouraged to become involved in delivering medical education. NHS Grampian offers a generous study leave package with funding available to develop interests or further your career during the course of your employment. With further digitalisation of our services, we are happy to discuss hybrid ways of working both across community/hospital sites and remotely from home where workload allows.

Full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC is required. Licence to practise must be in place prior to starting in post. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register from date of interview. Alternatively, applicants should possess a CESR / CESR (CP).

Applications from doctors with appropriate specialist training and experience who are not listed on the GMC Specialist Register can be considered for a Locum Consultant post (up to 12 months) if no substantive Consultant appointment is made. Whilst in locum employment, an application to obtain a CESR / CESR (CP) and entry onto the Specialist Register can be made.
