Overview

Aberdeen City OOH Community Nursing, Band 6 District Nurse

An opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 District Nurse to join our Aberdeen City HSCP Evening and Night Community Nursing Unscheduled Care Team. This role supports the Team Leader with day to day management and support of the overnight nursing team, who deliver unscheduled nursing interventions in response to referrals from GMED, NHS24 and other professionals, ensuring prioritisation of end of life care and symptom control for patients in their own homes, and supporting admission avoidance.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Team Leader with day to day management and support of the overnight nursing team in unscheduled care.
  • Coordinate unscheduled nursing interventions in response to referrals from GMED, NHS24 and other professionals.
  • Prioritise end of life care and symptom control for patients in their own homes.
  • Support admission avoidance where appropriate.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Specialist Practitioner District Nursing qualification is required.
  • Demonstrate interpersonal skills required to motivate the team in a busy unscheduled care environment during the out of hours period.
  • Clinical leadership skills and team management experience are essential to the role.

Details

  • Hours: 2300-0800, 2 shifts (17 hours) per week.
  • Car owner/driver and current UK driving licence required. Car must be LEZ compliant.
  • Location: Aberdeen Community Health and Care Village, White Zone, Frederick Street, Aberdeen AB24 5HY.
