An excellent opportunity has arisen to join the Orthodontic team at Aberdeen Dental Hospital and Institute of Dentistry. The post will be based within a modern purpose-built teaching hospital providing both undergraduate and postgraduate training in the region.

The department has modern clinical accommodation with a full complement of support staff and an in-house Orthodontic Laboratory. There is also a dedicated and fully staffed on-site Dental Imaging department with CBCT imaging available. Well-established multi-disciplinary clinics are held on a weekly basis with colleagues from the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Restorative Dentistry Services.

The service provides Orthodontic input for the regional Cleft Lip and Palate service, which is part of the National Managed Clinical Network (Cleft Care Scotland). Applicants must be innovative and demonstrate leadership skills to support the continuous improvement of the service to help deliver the best possible care for patients.

There is an opportunity to be involved with both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training. The post-holder will also be expected to contribute to audit and other elements of clinical governance.

Applicants must be fully registered with the General Dental Council and be on the General Dental Council’s Specialist Register for Orthodontics. Applicants should also have obtained the ISFE in Orthodontics or be within 6 months of attainment at the time of interview for the post.
